Enhanced Remaster Upgrade — Steam DLC & PS5 Buy Guide

How does the Steam upgrade work?

Steam treats RESONANCE OF FATE™ / END OF ETERNITY™ ENHANCED REMASTER (app 4996080) as DLC that requires the 4K/HD Edition (app 645730). The store banner states: “This content requires the base game … 4K/HD EDITION on Steam in order to play.”

Typical paths (US pricing as of 2026-10-31—verify your region):

After install, the title screen should read ENHANCED REMASTER under the logo.

Options → Graphics then shows Enhanced-only toggles such as HDR and Decimation filter (see /guides/graphics-settings-120fps-hdr/).

Compare the full feature delta in /guides/enhanced-remaster-vs-4k-hd-edition/.

What about PS5 and other platforms?

Launch news dated the global release October 29, 2026 (ANN press release in Sources); the US PlayStation Store showed October 30, 2026 when we checked on 2026-10-31. Gematsu reported $34.99 for the PS5/PC product and a $9.99 upgrade for owners of the PS4 or PC 4K/HD Edition—confirm your regional cart before paying.

We did not find an official Enhanced Remaster listing for Xbox or a physical PS5 case SKU in the sources checked for this page. PS5 gameplay footage from players shows the same UI tabs (Game Options, Graphics, etc.) as PC.

The hex world map and long optional missions are unchanged—upgrade value is mostly comfort and visuals (/guides/2x-game-speed/, /guides/is-enhanced-remaster-worth-it/).

Purchase checklist before you pay

1. Confirm 645730 is in your Steam library (or buy it first).
2. Add 4996080 upgrade—not a separate incompatible app.
3. Install the free 4K/HD Edition — High Resolution Texture Pack (Steam DLC 960720) on the base game if textures look soft (listed under app 645730’s DLC).
4. Set OPTIONS → Graphics after first launch; pair with /guides/graphics-settings-120fps-hdr/.
5. On PS5, buy the Enhanced Remaster store listing—not the delisted PS4 SKU unless your region offers an upgrade path.
